Rewarded ourselves with a day in

Staying warm and productive

Felt like we needed a PJ day - or at least a "PJ Half Day." The weather had a distinctive chilly bite to it, it was raining, the grizzly was still in our neighbourhood (there was a Conservation Officer with a gun in the neighbourhood school yesterday), we were home alone for the morning and there was rugby to watch. Sounds like insurmountable evidence to stage a sit in! So that's what we did. Tuned in and cheered the close finishes to #World Cup games and followed that up with more sport in the local #Canadian football league.

All accompanied by a Saturday cook up, coffees and of course a rundown of media reports on the referendum at home. @Mac filled in the time gaps with the game and I clicked up some more rows on my crochet project.

PJs, coffee and the game - the trifecta on a Saturday

We are not really supposed to do any "jobs" here because we are on "holidays" but we did use the time alone to run around with a few cleaning products and household utensils in the absence of the real locals. And then when they got home acted all innocent - "cleaning, what cleaning?" 🙄 The only reason we got caught was that I made the mistake of straightening the doona on their bed when I went in to run the vacuum cleaner (I still laugh at the vacuum cleaner joke.) Without that little tweak we would have gone undetected!

Rugby time with brekkie - even scored live photos from @Bill and @Kev at the game

Welcomed @Mindy and @Ian home and they had been shopping "again" in #Squamish. They contributed to the spookiness of the neighbourhood (as if a grizzly isn't enough) as the Halloween 🎃  stuff was unfurled on the porch. There were a plastic spiders thrown randomly over the porch and a couple landed on the outside glass table. Got me a beauty later in the afternoon. And when we were outside on a phone call later in the evening - a couple of them attached to @Mac's leg by a loose thread. He claims he wasn't caught up in the "gotcha" - even though he was flailing his leg in an effort to dislodge "whatever it was" on the darkened porch.

Checking out their handiwork

As part of her #Squamish shopping rerun, @Mindy had planned ahead and looked up the weather forecast for the next fortnight and sensibly determined that I couldn't wait for the "tech check" on my returned waterproof jacket. End result, I am the proud owner of a new one. It's a beauty - light blue, long line, #Columbia - I'm set for school next week! Thank you @Mindy and @Ian. Mind you, I have just realised won't be able to use "rainy day" as an excuse for our next stay at home lazy day!

Predicted rain for the entire week - oh, hood fold looks a little spooky

Dinner at home was a winner - made a big cornflour and deep fry mess in the kitchen rustling up some sweet and sour pork! It was a hit though and the real locals who comprise the cleanup squad took care of all of that kitchen chaos. As a finale, that #Bounty stash took another hit.

A wasted day really. But every now and then you just need some time to exhale and relax.

Saturday clouds on drive back from #Squamish- bottom pic clouds are lover than the road
