School day - the shared book in class entitlted "Slug Days" was written by the school teacher librarian
Did find ourselves at school early, because @Mindy had a meeting si ducked into the library and cleared that trolley. Still not promoted to #Dewey yet - sort of feels like qualifying for a "pen licence."
Had a relief teacher in the classroom today, and still added the two "additional" adults with 14 children. Same, same and followed our morning routines - complete with inside shoes and absolutely no mention of rubbers. Patterning was a great success because it was an outside activity. No mean feat really, because it was freezing cold, had to layer up AND don the outside shoes. No worries for the kids - all just happens and then they line up in "number" order and off we march. I had visions of bear encounters and stoically took up position at the rear of the line thinking I was going to be last anyway if there were a bear emergency that involved speed.
Turns out "the forest" is adjacent to the school playground and we had a fabulous time collecting natural materials, making complicated patterns and recording our clever results in photos. Nailed it so fortunately no sleepless nights on the horizon.
Finished up the morning session and took the bus back to #The Village to meet up with my "hot Friday lunch date." Beat him to the bus stop so took myself in for a visit to the #Whistler Library. A beautiful setup complete with attentive staff. As I walked through, three individual staff members left their desk space to see if I needed any help. Very impressive.
@Mac and I then wandered around inspecting menus trying to make a choice. At some stage "belini" popped into my head and that was it - we were sold. Settled ourselves into the "Old Spaghetti Factory" (a favourite from previous visits) and slurped our way through multiple courses and of course thoroughly enjoyed our layered #belini.
Rejected this one because of the rum rating
A quick turnaround at home as @Mindy raced in and collected her gear AND @Ian and then they took off for a sleepover in @Squamish with friends. @Emily and @Tim have a beautiful new little baby girl so it was a very special start to the weekend.
We bunkered down "home alone, enjoyed a very late fish dinner (our hosts are definitely not lovers of seafood) and broke out some if the #Halloween treats. Anyone counting on a #Bounty n a fortnight's time might be out of luck.
Absolutely no sign of our postal votes - looks like we will have to fill in another form to explain why we didn't cast a vote in the referendum.
