Confessing it's really not the first time I've caused that sort of drama. Actually did the same thing at home with some out of our garden that I thought would be a treat for @Anth and @Mac! Literally evacuated the house that time.
Took ourselves out onto the #Sea to Sky and hailed a number #10 bus and armed with the leaky jacket, headed straight to #Columbia.
Had to start the day with some digital housekeeping - been taking so many pictures of blue skies and snow peaks my SD card in the phone was full. Got that sorted early so we could get out and about. I love my little red pouch - it travels the world with us and always has the solution we need.
This little pack has done some miles - and some file transfers
You can't let the weather rule- low clouds and ominous for 10.15 am at the bus - 2:30 "emerging" blue skies and sunshine
You know, they didn't miss a beat at #Columbia and appeared to stand behind their promise of a "warranty for the life of the garment." The team member took the details with a smile, (including that we purchased it in 2015) they filled in the form, they explained the process and said they'd "be in touch." Guess the only downside was that the projected timeline is about 8 weeks for return from the warehouse and testing. Not sure what the outcome will be - but a leaky rain jacket is no good to me.
@Mac's major responsibility of the day was to select a venue for a light lunch. So many choices - and he rejected all the familiar and tried-and-true ones and took a "side" lane and stumbled on "Hot Buns Bakery." Felt it was a little dated in its naming and visual branding. But turned out to be another win for the day. We got there just in time to beat the rush and the savoury crepes, coffee AND pastry were all top notch. We always say "we'll do that again" and of course never do because you are just spoilt for choice here.
The weather had turned in our favour and we opted to walk home. #The Village to our door is just on the 5 km mark and when the sun is out - it is hard to resist. Always something new to see. Mind you, it is important to know where the public facilities are and @Mac has those options pinned to the map. With all the running water, I needed two venues today for the wee walk home.
I am always a bit partial for a stop at #Fitzsimmons Creek wherever it appears - as long as loos are included
Afternoon chats and debriefs, some sunshine on the porch, a bit of dinner prep and the day was done.
Or so we thought. There was a car crisis at home and our car was needed to fill the transport gap. No worries. Except, ... wait for it .... we had "hidden" the car keys - wanted to make it worth the burglar's while if they got inside and wanted to take the vehicle. We thought it was a little too easy if we left them at the front door. So put them somewhere "very" safe.
Hmmm. If only we could remember where we "hid" them. It definitely reminded me of the years I spent stashing the children's Christmas presents when they were little. Only to find them, by accident, a few years later, when the presents were well and truly beyond their age-appropriate use by date.
Thank goodness for @Aunty Gail is all I can say. Crisis averted.
