Got our tour guides back for the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend

Stunning day at #Nita Lake - blue skies, sunshine and perfectly still

What a difference a long weekend makes. Add to that a huge dose of sunshine, blue skies and 20-degree temperatures and the place is rocking! So much traffic, bikes on all the trails and our #Village Stroll walkway that we usually have to ourselves in the #Village, was pumping with people. The "turkey sales" are on (that is similar to an end of year sale for all the shops - not the food turkey) and it is the last weekend that the mountain lifts are open for the bikers. Busy, busy.

Headed south again (towards #Vancouver) but this time just as far as #Creekside. @Mindy and @Ian had a rest and relaxation #Spa appointment and we had a date with another Lake.

Got our tour guides back!

What a perfect day. I mean magical. Can the sky get any bluer? This was at #Creekside and around #Nita Lake, still on that 46 kms of community pathways known as #The Village Trail. Everyone was out. Fisherman, stand up paddle board riders, swimmers, sun bakers, walkers and riders. Mums and dads, children, grandparents. Even workers. We heard the chainsaw in the distance and then watched maybe 10 tall trees topple one by one all with their associated crack and thwack.

Walking #Nita Lake

Particularly enjoyed this neck of the woods. We seem to be jammed in between the tumbled blocks and cliffs on one side of the path and the beauty of the lake on the other. This pathway was particularly busy (it's a direct route to #Creekside Gondola) and we laughed as we ducked under a sign that we have never seen in #Australia which warned "Watch for flying snow/slush" as you passed under bridges.

Not really a sign we have encountered before

This is also the location of the train station for the #Rocky Mountaineer. We missed it by 10 minutes because we had opted for a lunch post lake-walk at the #Diner.

For @Kathy and @Dave - checked out #Rocky Mountaineer Whistler Station

Did make a preliminary start on the walk around #Alpha Lake which was boasting lots of water activity and family fun. Need to put an asterisk beside this one because we need to come back to make time to complete the lake walk loop.

A quick look at #Alta Lake

Diner delights - it was described on the menu as the "Big Ass Pancake"

Okay, #Creekside is where #Whistler had its beginnings - this is-Whistler from "the other side"

Next stop was up at the #Village to take in the weekend markets at the base of #Blackcomb but once again we're not tempted by any of the local produce or art work. Did spot a very impressive timber piece of artwork back at the #Lake though that I would love to own! Always enjoy a visit to #Blackcomb because we get to traverse my favourite bridge over #Fitzsimmons Creek.

Ha ha- how volatile is this caption - "Favourites on Fitzsimmons" - oops, should edit to SOME favourites ... that's better

Crossed back and "strolled"  #The Village Stroll with crowds of others, darted into various shops on the hunt for nothing in particular and headed home with plans that included a taco feast and football.

The colours!

The pumpkins

The people

Really getting our #Canada on and happily living like locals. Mind you, we haven't lost our "tourist" goggles - still oohing and aching at the colour of the trees, the pumpkins that are now everywhere, the mountains, the sky and the reflections of all of this on the surface of the water. @Mindy and @Ian still have their googles on after 10 years here.  @Mac has been a little "down in the dumps" because the snow flurries that were produced last week with the cold conditions has now all but disappeared under the sunshine of the 20-degree days and his distinctive #Wedge Mountain is almost bare again. Gosh, I think we are like, hankering to luck out for some cold weather.

$1300 a piece - I "need" one!

PS My @Aunty Gail doesn't only do taxi service, house sitting, mail collection, key management, police check queries and neighbourhood updates - also specialises in orchid sitting! Look at these little bloomers! Got green thumbs and a heart of gold!

Bloomin' lovely
