We are the responsible adults - imagine that

Early start to get the troops off and running for their get-away! We had double alarms set because we have not been up before 10 am since we have arrived. Even went to bed early last night so we could be on hand for farewells at the bus stop.

Leg 1 - on the big bus to the city - Europe bound

They were so organised- had a check list for the last-minute essentials. Nothing left to chance including final organisation of "we two" - the designated responsible adults.

Love that we have phone numbers for essential services - including a plumber - and the contacts for "actually" responsible (and dependable) local adults in case we get stuck! Even had parting invitation to "Text me" if we needed further support organising anything else that may pop into our heads. Ages and stages - certainly role reversal as we get older.

And do feel I have to mention here, as an aside, that in my early morning wakeup and dress, my shiny gold glittery toenails scared 😱 me more than once!

Time to wave them off. Safe travels and grand adventures

Whistler to Vancouver is close to 3 hours - and then add your requirement for early check-in post covid - their access to the Skyteam Lounge for a 1:30 pm flight is a bonus. Gave them time to scout (and resist0 the duty free and enjoy some brekkie.

Hours to wait - do it in comfort

Very happy with setup - plenty of room, a footrest AND a leg rest - sleep is possible

Meanwhile, back at Alpine, we were already struggling with the new responsibilities. Had to water the garden, receive the parcels that continue to arrive AND contend with the pest control man who was here to eradicate the reported wasps. WHAT? I had to send out an SOS to the international airport for that one and hand the negotiations and explanations over to @Mindy.

Pottered around the house - sussed out the secret stashes for all the munchies- and recorded the travellers a #RING Doorbell video goodbye message complete with repeated "rings" if the bell and stuffing our faces with chippies.

Sent a string of indecipherable (to anyone else other than our children) #Mumtexts which at one stage had @Ian trying out his new noise cancelling headsets while snoozing with Amanda in the layback seat.

Even more hilarious, was that @Mindy 🤣 deciphered it without a problem and instantly responded "Exactly what I said."

What a classic

Seriously, some days I feel I have been transported back to "Playschool" days with @John - remember when there was one meaning for the kids - and one for the adults. Got some laughs out of those mornings - and #Mumtexts provide similar jollies!

Quite cool here today so had to suit up to go outside for our walk. Thought we would take the "road route" today and suss out some of the houses. Wow.  Some massive places here with everyone vying for their glimpse of Whistler or Blackcomb

Love the timber here - not sure I am loving the notion of all the internal stairs

Think the max here under overcast skies was 18 but summer returns tomorrow and into the weekend. Got our bus tickets ready for a reasonably early start tomorrow - think we will be motivated to get out and about - we are out of wine.

Whistler view today - clouds rather than smoke
