That feels so good.
Oh not quite there, it hurts - a little softer please."
These were common utterances today for the first timer for a "Mother-Daughter" pedicure and manicure. As an aside, all the descriptors are for me: hitting the spot, 69 and virgin. I know I have had my nails done before - but certainly a first time treat for this top and tail pampering with @Mindy. I definitely needed to be shown the ropes.
Salon had a resident dog! Our before (they worked their magic) pics.
Have to confess I was very nervous turning up with feet that hadn't seen this level of attention before. And then mortified at the debris that adorned the black towel as #Yevin soaked, snipped, clipped, shaped, scrubbed, rasped, rubbed and finally painted my digits.
A very novel experience.
Laughed every time @Yevin touched that middle toe on my left foot - how could it be so ticklish and although assured this was a relaxing experience, definitely felt loads of pressure having to select a colour from page after page of colour choices. "Did you want gel, is rounded okay, are you having the wax?" Totally flummoxed by every query and at one stage I thought they were offering to wax the hairs off my toes (not that I think I have hairy toes.). A bit extreme! But no, just a lovely warm paraffin wax soak for relaxation. I'm sure that's what @Aunty Gail had at the hospital as part of a treatment for a broken wrist. Glad I didn't have to break anything to qualify today.
Left very proud of my nude fingernails and gold sparkling toenails and still marvelling that the polish shade number @Mindy selected actually had the name "Santorini Sand!" What a coincidence for their upcoming trip.
And #Europe has been the focus of most of the day. @Ian still working to the last minute and @Mindy jumped between final packing and final household duties. We were absolutely no help and were guilty of interrupting their run down with requests for last minute storage and coffee making instructions.
The combination of our new 💅 plus the fact that it was our last night together until October, warranted a dinner out at the local Japanese restaurant.
Was all about the ramen - really hit the spicy spot
Delicious and glad we were early birds because it was packed by the time we were leaving. Followed up with an at home constructed dessert inspired by the news of an Australian McDonald's Milo McFlurry. We made our own. Totally decadent.
Late night for the travellers and early morning for us all with alarms set for departure hugs and kisses in the morning.
PS A lovely crisp clear day in Whistler - can see the sky and the mountains!
PPS Had given @Mac a 3-hour heads up to be showered and ready for the quick turnaround for dinner pickup. He thinks he's so funny - sent me an updated picture of himself - poised at the door - dressed and ready to go - counting down on his watch. As a TEXT MESSAGE no less - lucky we fixed his phone yesterday or he'd still be sending it to my Aus number.
Check out his one worder text message ... "Waiting" Admititng I did laugh.
PPPS: Had to rethink the crochet project - worked a few rows and the outcome was "frisbee-like" - have pulled it apart, and after consultation with a higher authority (@MY_AuntyGail) am trying reworking it with a bigger hook. 🤞
