Full house for a fine Friday

Getting caught up with the Halloween monsters - they are everywhere

That was unusual - we were all home. @Ian working as usual, @Mindy on a professional learning day tuning in from home and @Mac and I homebound because we had lunched out yesterday.

It was actually a fine day today with the sun occasionally breaking through the low-level cloud. Not that we knew what it was like until after 2 pm. Had to revel in the #Aussie cricketer's big bash and then marvel at the dominance of the #All Blacks over the #Pumas in Paris.

Capturing those last pics of the mountain peaks

We already know from previous adventures how far we would walk for a pie (5 kms) - today we proved how far we were prepared to walk for a bottle of wine. Let the record show that our #Barefoot Pinot Grigio was sourced on a 6.99 km trek. But in my opinion well worth it. Our wine trek did bring up thoughts of home and our standing order with #Printhie Wines. Holding our breath hoping it doesn't arrive until after we get home. I "suppose" we can trust @Aunty Gail and @Paul to sample "just a few" if it happens to land on our doorstep early.

Cut that ham and loved it. Had a Friday lunch at home of toasties before taking off for our ambling walk. Felt very motivated to go today because this may be our last "clear view" of the mountains before we leave. Even though there were clouds hanging around in the lower levels - we were getting those glorious peeks at the glorious peaks.

Checking out the tent and picking up some pumpkins for carving practice

Apparently, the "monsters" at #Nesters were causing a few bigger frights than expected. Instead of having their larger-than-life statues scattered through the store, they are now collected in a tent outside the shop - you have to choose to go in! I don't get it - everyone is walking around not worrying about the "grizzlies" but the creepy statues have to be corralled in a tent! I know what I'd be locking up.

Got a late afternoon Voicemail from #Camada Post to say that they had a "parcel" for collection. Their claim was that they had been to the address twice to make the delivery, but no-one was available to sign for it. Yeah right. Beside the fact that @Ian works from home and is here every day, they also have a security camera on their door and there is no evidence of any #Canada Post representative looking for a signature. Guess we will check it out Monday and of course it will be @Mac's ballot paper.

Dinner tonight was a roll up affair of mother-daughter action in the kitchen. What a hit our simple sausage rolls were and @Mindy even surprised herself with her ninja skills in the kitchen. Mind you, the hairy coo PJs do add an extra special flair to chef duties.

Teaming up in the kitchen! No chefs were damaged in the use of that rolling pin

Tonight's at home movie definitely not on my top 10 or even top million shows of all times. Gave it a HUGE thumbs DOWN. Will be glad when the NFL is back on and I get to see #Taylor Swift cheering on #Travis Kelce and the #Chiefs

Adding to my Rotten Tomatoes collection

PS Seriously. I know I restocked his brown socks before we left home.  Can someone PLEASE explain to me why @Mac insists on showcasing his toenails. Apparently, at Thanksgiving, when he knew he had to take off his  👞 👞 , he walked around in a blessed pair. What happened to his bold "darning" statement. How embarrassing. You can't take him anywhere!

Maybe I can paint a face on the toenail?

PPS Getting a little list of requests for repeat meals before we head home. Apparently in class on Fridays - everyone shares something they are thankful for from the week just past  ... @Mindy's sharing was "I am thankful for my Mummy's potato bake." 🥔 ❤️ 🥔 ❤️

PPPS Unfortunate timing for this ad that @Deb sent through to from today's paper at home. Don't think we'll be signing up for that one anytime soon.

Probably not
